Joomla WordPress and Drupal Training

Well they don’t let us web monkeys out of the office all that much, but yesterday I stepped out for the day to assist on a joomla training course.

It made a nice change to actually be out in the city.  Not entirely sure that I like the sardine type packing on the london underground, it’s one of those things you have to experience once in you life though!

On the plus side we don’t have policemen ‘helping’ us onto the trains…

It was a good chance to see how other people are using Joomla in their web development and what (if any) problems they are facing using the system. And also was good to how see the syllabus of a joomla training session is laid out.  As the last time I was actually teaching anything was at army cadets, and I don’t think the teaching style of “get down and gimme 50″ would have worked all that well with the training delegates!

Was also really good to meet up with Brian Teeman yesterday. (One of the founding joomla developers)

And a big congrats on the ComputerWeekly.com Open Source Blog of the Year Award!

Promotional Golf TeesIn passing my business card at the end of the session I got a printed golf tee in return with his blog address on it.

I thought this was an innovative use of promotional golf tees!

I bet you were wondering how I would bring promotional items into this blog post! Of course my response was “if you ever need any more…”
