We have always been hearing the adage that customer is the king (or the queen, depending upon the gender!). The whole concept of branding and marketing came into being to woo the customer so that he or she buys the products of the company. Companies spend a lot on advertising and one of the ways they really reach out to customers is by using promotional products.

These products are more than handy to create awareness in the minds of the customer and create that wow effect. Many companies print their name and logo on small gift items and hand them over to potential customers and clients, especially during networking events and trade fairs. The recipients accept these printed promotional products with glee and love to show them off. They not only view the company’s name and logo themselves but also show it to other people, who are then aware of the brand.

Branded promotional products are used to create brand awareness among the potential clients and customers.

Visibility is very important as far any company or product is concerned and branded items help increase it. With more people viewing the brand, awareness peaks. No company can survive without branding and these economically viable gift items make it possible for them to spread brand awareness. Many companies these days are going a step ahead by customising their gift items. Branding is being done by being more customer centric.

Custom promotional products are finding many takers in the corporate world because these products not only display the name and logo of the company but also associate them with the name of the customers and clients. More than branding, these products are creating a loyalty in the minds of the customers and clients. Promotional promotional products are a rage in the corporate world because they allow corporate to connect with their customers at a very low cost. The return on investment is very high, much more than that achieved from the traditional modes of advertisement. One way that companies are customizing their gift items is by personalising them.

Personalised promotional products are not only being used in general marketing, but also as tools of employee satisfaction and retention. I saw one telecom company create a calendar with the name of the recipients printed on them along with their photographs in different poses and moods. For me, this was the ultimate work in branding and marketing.

Companies these days know that they need to go that extra mile to woo their customers. Since advertisement budgets are tight these days, they are now focussing on using inexpensive gift items to give to their customers and create and build brand loyalty. This is the marketing mantra of the present times and it is going to continue for a while.
